Nivea Men Post Shave Balm Primer

Okay so I have been trying out the Nivea Men Sensitive Post Shave Balm as a primer for the last few weeks after seeing Nikkie Tutorials raving about it in her youtube videos. She claimed that due to the high level of glycerin in this product it helps your makeup stick to your face and stay looking flawless all day.

I was eager to try this method as I have a problem with my foundation always seeming to disappear off certain areas of my face (mainly the centre of my forehead and my chin) after a few hours no matter what foundation I use. I have seen lots of reviews where people have mentioned how they don't like the scent of this, it's a very typical man scent and I actually quite like it. Although if you don't want to smell like a man, don't worry because after a while the smell completely disappears. Unfortunately this product doesn't come with a pump or anything for an easier application, so you do have to pour some out onto the back of your hand and then apply to the face in circular motions, Nikkie said to keep rubbing it into the skin until it becomes tacky then just apply your makeup how you usually would. This product makes my makeup apply so much smoother and has made it stay on all day, apart from my chin area since I have a habit of touching my face there and my makeup ends up rubbing off anyway.

I believe this works for most skin types as I have seen a lot of different reviews of people with all different skin types that say they love it, I honestly couldn't tell you what my skin type is at the moment.. I used to have very dry skin but recently its more combination. If you have the same issue as me with your makeup not lasting, I would definitely recommend trying this product out.

Models Own Nail Polish Haul

Models Own are my favourite nail polish brand, so when I saw they were having a 50% off everything sale I went a little crazy. They are usually £5 a bottle so I couldn't resist buying all the colours I'd been wanting for so long, I picked up 8 polishes in total...

From left to right: Magenta Divine, Buff Pink, Pink Fizz, Purple Ash

My Mac Lipstick Collection

Anyone that knows me will know how much I love lipstick and when it comes to lipstick in my opinion, MAC just do it better. They are quite expensive at £15.50 a pop now.. when I bought my first one I'm sure they were £13 pound something, but I still think they are worth it. I have built up quite the collection of them over the years and I personally find MAC lip collection posts very helpful when searching for which shade to buy next, so I thought I'd do one..

Myth, Creme D'nude, Honeylove, Blankety, Velvet Teddy, Creme Cup, Pink Nouveau, Viva Glam Nicki, Morange,
Lady danger, So chaud, Russian Red.

Myth is a very pale nude, applied on it's own would look like the dreaded 'concealer lips' but is great for using in addition to a darker lipliner or lipstick to lighten the colour.

Creme D'nude is a light peachy nude, more wearable alone than myth but I still like this more worn with a lip liner as I'm not too keen on the finish alone.

Honeylove is a browny beige nude, this is my most recently purchased Mac lipstick.. this with spice lipliner is my favourite lipstick combo ever.

Blankety is a pinky beige colour, my most worn and most loved lipstick ever. I desperately need to pick up a new one of these.

Velvet Teddy is a browny beige, I got it as a result of the hype and I wasn't disapointed.. again love this with spice lipliner.

Creme Cup is a neutral pinkish colour, I think this was the first ever lipstick I bought.. pretty sure I read Kim K used it so that's why I bought it. Unfortunately it didn't make me look like a kardashian, I don't like wearing this lipstick alone but with a nice pinky lipliner it looks great.

Pink Nouveau is a bright pink, I went through a bright lipstick phase a few years ago and I used to wear this all the time as you can see, I rarely use it anymore though as I don't think these type of colours suit me.

Viva Glam Nicki is a bright coraly pink, I don't quite know what I was thinking when I bought this.. I purchased it when it first came out and I've literally worn it once.

Morange is a bright orange, I also bought this one when I was going through my bright lippy stage and actually never wore it. When summer comes I am going to try mixing this with my red lipsticks to make them brighter and see how that goes.

Lady Danger is a bright orangey toned red, my go-to favourite red lipstick to wear. I find that darker red shades make me look a bit too gothic looking due to me having very dark hair.. I used to love wearing this paired with Redd lipliner until I unfortunately lost it on a night out.

So Chaud is the first MAC red lipstick I purchased which in 2012 I wore to death, I never wear it anymore as I prefer Lady Danger but it's still a lovely colour.

Russian Red is a more classic blueish red shade, I don't wear this very often as I don't think this type of red suits me very much.

What's your favourite MAC lipstick?

Christmas Wishlist

With christmas approaching I have been thinking of what I would like to receive this christmas so I thought I'd share some of the things I'm lusting over at the moment. I'm not going to lie some of these itsems will most likely be presents to myself from myself.

Boohoo Sequin Black Dress Been on the look out for the perfect New Years Eve dress and I think I have found it! Love a good sequin dress around christmas/new years time.

Soap and glory Well I'll Be Glammed I love soap and glory and will be happy if I receive any of their gift sets but this one has lots of full size products which I love.

Public Desire Lace Up Black Heels I'm in need of some new going out heels to wear boxing day and new years, I'm loving the lace up heels at the moment. I will probably fall and break my neck in these but they are so pretty I need them in my life.

Ariana Grande Perfume I haven't actually smelt this perfume but the packaging is so cute and I love Ariana.

Zoeva Rose Gold Eye Set I've been wanting some Zoeva brushes for so long now and I love the Black and Rose gold sets.

Mary-lou Manizer Highligher This product is so hyped up and I am yet to try it.

Kiko Velvet Mat Satin Lipstick 600 Nude Beige

As soon as I heard about how the new Kiko store in meadowhall had opened I had to go and get some things! Unfortunately most of the things I wanted weren't in stock so I ended up just buying a lipstick, I will definitely have to make an online order very soon. I picked up this lipstick mainly because the packaging is to die for, obviously I had to purchase a nude shade as they are my favourite so I went with the lightest nude of the range which is 600 Nude Beige.

Nude Beige is a classic light warm nude colour. The formula of this lipstick I would describe as a creamy satin formula. It is very light and creamy, definitely not matte. The packaging has to be the nicest lipstick packaging I have ever come across. It's a beautiful sleek gold colour and you press down on the bullet to release the lipstick.

Makeup Geek Haul

Makeup geek finally came to the UK last week when it was launched on the beautybay website, luckily I managed to get some eyeshadows before they sold out. This is my first time purchasing anything from makeup geek so I decided to get 5 eyeshadows to start with. I was expecting good things from these after seeing all the hype online about them but I am still so overly impressed, the pigmentation of these is unreal. I'm so happy I finally have some shadows to put in my lilac Z-palette.

From left to right: Whimsical, Blacklight, Corrupt, Beaches and Cream, Frappe.

Whimsical (foiled) is a light silvery pink with a foiled finish, Can't wait to use this.

Blacklight (duo chrome) is a duochrome eyeshadow which reflects purple and blue.

Corrupt is a very intense matte black, the blackest black eyeshadow on the market I believe.

Beaches and Cream is a creamy matte natural beige with a hint of peach, perfect as a transition shade.

Frappe is a medium brown shade perfect for warming up the crease.

Top 5 Drugstore Makeup Products

As my current posts on my blog seem to be more focused on high end makeup I thought It'd be a fab idea to do a post about my favourite "drugstore" cheap and cheerful makeup products, because we all love a good bargain don't we?

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation -
This is one of my all time favourite foundations as no other foundation makes my skin look as amazing as this does. I bought it after watching quite a few of That Pommie Girl's makeup tutorials on youtube and seeing how gorgeous it looked on her and I wasn't disappointed. I have it in shades 54 beige and 52 vanilla.

Makeup Revolution Pro Illuminate-
This is literally the best highlighter I own, it's even replaced MAC soft and gentle. I'm not sure if this is a product Makeup Revolution sell all the time, but I purchased it in a christmas set from superdrug which was £10 and comes with 3 brushes (which are also AMAZING) and a bronzer/powder duo. I would definitely recommend picking it up.

LA Girl Pro Concealer 'Creamy Beige' -
This concealer isn't available in UK drugstores but I thought I would include it since you can get it very cheap on ebay with free shipping. I love this, it's very comparable to MAC pro longwear.

Maybelline Lipstick 'Tantilizing Taupe'-
My go-to lipstick if I can't decide what lippy to go for, I just apply some nude lipliner and whack this on over the top and I'm good to go.

Essence Waterproof Liquid Ink Eyeliner -
Best liquid eyeliner I've used and I am a big liquid liner fan, the brush makes it very easy to apply and it's soooo black. I purchased this from wilko I think that's the only place in the UK that stocks essence at the moment.

MAC Favourites

Mac is by far my favourite makeup brand so I thought I'd do a post on my favourite Mac products. I am currently getting into wearing eyeshadow more and am building up my mac eyeshadow palette at the moment, however I only have 4 eyeshadows so far so that's why I didn't include any eye products in this post.

Mineralize Skinfinish Soft and Gentle -
This is possibly one of the most well known products from Mac, absolutely amazing highlighter! Leaves a beautiful sheen on the skin. I'm obsessed.

Studio Fix Fluid NC35 -
This has been a favourite of mine for years. No matter how many foundations I buy and try out, I always find my way back to this one. I love the finish it gives and the colour matches my fake tan perfectly.

Mineralize Blush Warm Soul -
I'm not really a big blusher fan, this is the only blusher I wear on a regular basis. It gives a gentle glow to the skin and is such a pretty colour.

Boldy Bare Lip Liner -
I love Macs lip liners, I always tend to lose them on nights out though. Spice and Redd would have been in my favourites if they hadn't magically disappeared out of my bag. Boldy bare is my current favourite as its a very natural pinky brown colour that's easy to throw on.

Blankety and Velvet Teddy lipstick -
My favourite product from MAC are their lipsticks, no brand does lipsticks like MAC does! As i am obsessed with browny nudes, My two faves are Blankety (as you can tell I really need to purchase a new one.. this is my most worn MAC lippie) and Velvet Teddy.

What are your MAC favourites?

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS CONTOUR KIT LIGHT/MEDIUM £39 - CULT BEAUTY

After seeing all the hype on this palette and debating whether or not I need it for so long, I finally gave into temptation and purchased it. As a contour-aholic I just couldn't resist any longer. I bought this palette a few weeks ago and haven't stopped using it since, I am in love. This palette is very versatile you can use it to set, contour, bronze, highlight and you could use the shades as eyeshadow.

In the picture above I used a mix of Banana and Vanilla under the eyes to set concealer, Fawn to carve out the cheekbone, Java and Havana mixed to bronze up the face and Sand as my cheekbone highlight.

August Favourites

Urban Decay Smoky Palette -
I had to include this as I haven't stopped using it since I got it, I use the more natural colours for an everyday look and go all out with the glittery shades on a night out.

Essence Lip Liner Satin Mauve -
This is one of my favourite lip liners at the moment and it's only £1, absolute bargain.

MAC Lipstick Creme Cup -
I've had this lipstick years and at first I wasn't that keen on it, but this paired with the essence lipliner has become my favourite combo! Makes my lips look so much more plump.

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation -
I decided to pick this up after hearing about how good it is for us dry skin girls and I wasn't disappointed. The only down side is that because it is a foundation aimed at more dryer skins it tends to not last as long as foundations for oily skin, so I do have to set it with the maybelline fit me powder which I also love.

NYX Matte Bronzer Deep Tan -
This has been my go to bronzer this month, its quite a deep dark warm toned bronzer I love it for contouring or just for adding some colour to my face.

Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan -
This tan is quite natural and subtle compared to other tans, which isn't really what I tend to go for but it can be built up with a few layers on. It has quite a pleasant floraly scent to it which I love. It develops in 1 hour but I tend to leave it on overnight as I like a deeper tan.

Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette

Having never tried any of the naked palettes, I thought they were overpriced and over hyped. I had never been interested in buying one until I saw swatches of the new urban decay smoky palette. As a huge fan of cool tone silvery smokey eyes it was right up my street so as soon as it was released here in the UK I had to purchase it.

The overall look of this palette is very sleek, I absolutely love the packaging. Not only can you create dramatic glittery smokey eyes with this palette but you can easily create natural looks too. This palette is quite pricey at £38 but in my opinion its worth every penny. I have been using this palette none stop since I got it and I am in love.
